Crisis Support for Teens
Numbers to Call
Suicide & Crisis Lifeline: 988 or 801-587-3000
Similar to “911”, you will be provided with assistance to manage crises as needed. Request a “CIT Officer” if law enforcement needs to be involved. Crisis Intervention Team officers are specially trained to handle crisis situations and work with police to help in complex situations.
- If your cell phone is registered to a state other than Utah (801,435, or 385), please call 801-587-300 to be directed to a Utah based crisis worker.
-You can also use 988’s text-based service at the following link. Please ensure you enter a Utah zip code to be connected to a Utah based crisi worker:
SafeUT: 833-372-3388
A line where you can chat with a crisis counselor or send a tip to a school about a student you are concerned about. SafeUT also has a free app that you and your teen can download to access the same services.
Crisis Text Line: Text “HOME” to 741741
A text-based line where you can receive crisis support as needed.
The Trevor Project – Text “START” to 678678 or Call 1-866-488-7386
A crisis line specific to teens that identify as members of the LGBTQ community.
Intermountain Health Stabilization and Mobile Response: 1-833-723-3326
A mobile crisis team that can come into the home and provide crisis care, referring to other services as needed. Virtual services are also provided. When calling the number, ask for the Stabilization and Mobile Response (SMR) team.
Utah Warm Line: 801-587-1055 (local) 833-SPEAKUT (toll free)
Often, individuals may need a listening ear as they heal and recover from their own personal struggles. Utah residents who need connection from others who have walked similar paths may call the Utah Warm Line for that support. The Warm Line is staffed 8am-11pm, 7 days a week, 365 days a year at no cost.
