Location:34 S 300 E, Provo, UT 84606
Mandy Erickson started in the mental health field 20 years ago while earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. What started as “needing six months experience in the field” for her graduate school application, ended up an 11-year career working within the residential treatment field with adolescents. Later, after other life goals, Mandy finally returned to school to receive her Masters in Mental Health Counseling. Since getting her graduate degree, Mandy has worked with many populations, but found working with adolescents her “niche”. Mandy has spent countless hours perfecting her knowledge of the “teenage brain” and what it really means to work with teens.
Mandy is a “Wyoming Native” and started her career working at Cathedral Home for Children for five years. She relocated to Salt Lake City, Utah and began working at Cottonwood Treatment Center where she remained for another six years prior to her graduate school requirements of interning. While at CTC, Mandy was able to use her creativity, education, and experience to develop programs for the 18-21-year-old residents of CTC including the Adult Education Program and Independent Living Program in addition to teaching various subjects. In her spare time, Mandy worked on plans to develop another dream-owning her own residential facility.
In May 2018, Mandy was recruited by the CEO of Affinity Guidance Services to work as their Clinical Director. During this time, Mandy developed a Partial Hospitalization program for adolescents that has proven successful enough to have clients referred from other states! Opportunity came when the CEO brought Mandy and another therapist together to assemble and develop Summit Counseling Solutions.
In addition to her role at Summit Counseling Solutions, she is the mother of three wonderful and loving girls and a very tenacious and loving “man child”. Even though Mandy has worked with adolescents for 20 years, nothing prepared her for when her own children would be teenagers! They continually give their mother a rewarding life-lab full of opportunities to refine her professional skills!
