Biography

Jamila is an honors student at Brigham Young University, where she is pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Gerontology. Originally from Alaska, Jamila previously worked as a social services assistant in a skilled nursing facility. Since beginning her studies, she has been involved in psychology research and volunteer work, with research interests that include ethical therapeutic practices, the connection between mental and physical health, social media use, and intrapersonal trust.

Jamila plans to pursue graduate studies in Clinical Psychology or Marriage and Family Therapy. She is excited to be part of the Summit Counseling Solutions team and looks forward to working with clients in a compassionate and supportive environment.

Outside of her academic and professional interests, Jamila enjoys staying active through boxing, running, and rollerblading. She also loves painting, reading, and spending quality time with her loved ones.
