While originally born here in Utah, Dereck considers his home to be where he grew up in Las Vegas, NV. Dereck is a graduate of Utah Valley University where he obtained his Master of Social Work. During his studies, he spent time working with adolescents at the Provo City School District as a school social worker and has also worked as a therapist within a coordinated specialty care team dedicated to intervening with adolescents and young adults experiencing early onset psychosis with Wasatch Behavioral Health. He has been with Summit Counseling Solutions for over 2 years where he has grown to enjoy being able to work with families alongside the adolescent client!

 When Dereck is not a therapist, he enjoys being an uncle and spending his time with friends. He loves to go camping, off-roading, and playing tabletop games!
